I provide psychotherapy to youth, adults, and families on a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and relational issues. I offer a unique and personally tailored approach to therapy, focusing on depression, anxiety, life adjustments and transitions, post-traumatic stress and psychological trauma, childhood issues and trauma, grief, family problems, and relational difficulties. I hope to provide you with an open and professional atmosphere with the goal of working through emotional difficulties, facilitating personal growth, forming healthier relationships, and moving on in your life.
I practice primarily from a psychodynamic psychotherapy perspective, typically focusing on emotional expression in a safe atmosphere, patterns in attachments and relationships in the past and present, self understanding, and developing a trusting therapeutic relationship. I will listen to you on a deep level as an ally in the process of your therapy. Developing new ways of coping with old, and sometimes deeply ingrained problems can have a lasting benefit over the course of ones life.
I have additional training and experience working in other therapy modalities; such as, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, motivational interviewing, interpersonal therapy, and emotion-focused therapy ensuring I can meet your individual therapy needs.
