I believe we are each the expert of our own lives. Only we know what is best for us but sometimes this knowledge is buried under layers of anxiety, anger, trauma, and self-esteem issues. Counselling and psychotherapy can be used to explore root issues and change one’s relationship with these layers.
I have a Master of Social Work and am a Registered Social Worker. I bring experience from working in the community, in government, and as a previous Social Worker with The Ottawa Hospital. I create an accepting and safe space, where I listen and support my clients through the therapy process. I work with adults and children, specializing in separation/divorce, parenting, caregiver burnout, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, and work-life balance. I use aspects of psychodynamic theory, attachment-based narrative therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and art.
