More About Me

I believe that dyslexia, ADHD, and autism are not ‘learning disabilities'; they are misunderstood within a system that does not know how to help. As a Davis facilitator, I can assist you in understanding the root causes of dyslexia, ADHD, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, and many other learning difficulties. My goal is to help you recognize that none of these conditions are a “bad thing”; rather, they are positive aspects that are profoundly misunderstood.

The Davis Method focuses on what works. We empower individuals to overcome their difficulties by using tools not provided in other programs. These tools and course materials give you and your family the ability to self-regulate your energy and focus, obtain academic success, and participate more fully in life!

We will work together to help you learn how to learn using the Davis Concepts for Life program

The Davis Concepts for Life® Program is designed to support individuals facing
challenges in focus, organization, self-regulation, stress, anxiety, and relationship
management. As a participant in the program, you can expect to experience improved well-being, stronger social connections, enhanced productivity, better time management, and strengthened relationships. The program aims to help individuals navigate life with greater self-awareness, create boundaries, manage stress, and reduce anxiety. It also focuses on improving interactions, self-regulation, and listening skills, leading to a more organized and fulfilling life.

The Davis Concepts for Life® Program uses creativity and experiential learning to help participants master fundamental cognitive concepts such as cause and effect, time, order, motivation, and responsibility. This approach ensures that these concepts become a natural part of how participants think and learn, empowering them to take control of their lives.

The program is structured into 3 steps:

  • 1 The first step involves self-regulation strategies and tools, including auditory orientation, stress management techniques, and visualization exercises.
  • 2 The second step focuses on teaching essential life concepts through hands-on activities using modelling clay. Participants learn about change, consequence, time, order, and other foundational concepts in a fun and engaging way.
  • 3 The third step involves implementing meaningful change by exploring and creating new behaviours, strengthening executive functioning skills, and improving social integration.

The Davis Method, A Different Perspective on Autism
As a Davis facilitator, I understand the weight you carry, the worry, the endless questions, and the feeling that traditional approaches just aren't quite enough. I’ve been there too. What if you could learn from someone who's walked this path?

The Davis Autism Approach® wasn't born in a clinical setting – it came from the heart and mind of Ron Davis, an autistic individual who discovered his own way through the challenges you're facing right now. In Ron's words: "I know what it feels like... I realized that, given that I had found my own way through this chaos, I could provide a 'map' for others of my kind to follow."

We will work together to help empower you

The Davis Autism Approach® Program was created by an autistic individual to empower autistic individuals to participate more fully in a life they choose. It is a gentle, respectful, and non-intrusive program that celebrates and honours the gifts of neurodiversity and builds on each person’s strengths to overcome challenges.

The program is suitable for any autistic individual aged eight years or over who has receptive language (i.e., can understand what is being said). Clients who have completed the program have experienced positive changes such as reduced anxiety, increased ability to participate in daily activities, greater capacity to cope with change, a reduction in sensory overload symptoms, fewer meltdowns, and a greater sense of self. The program helps individuals understand the world they live in and supports them in their relationships while retaining their unique autistic identity.

The Davis Autism Approach is a three-step program that can take between 60 and 120 hours, tailored to the individual’s unique needs.

  • 1 The first step, Individuation and Self-Regulation, helps individuals become more grounded in the present, develop and refine their perception, and manage their stress and energy levels. Techniques used include auditory orientation, self-awareness through modelling clay, stress release, and energy regulation visualization.
  • 2 The second step, New Foundations, emphasizes identity development by introducing fundamental life concepts such as change, consequence, cause and effect, and responsibility. These concepts are introduced through a multisensory hands-on approach using modelling clay and real-life scenarios. This step also includes exercises to promote order, establish new behaviours, and foster self-responsibility.
  • 3 The third step, Building Bridges, supports social integration by exploring different types of relationships and behaviours. Instead of memorizing social skills, individuals use modelling clay to create representations of themselves and others within various relationships, helping them navigate social situations more effectively.

This program has profoundly impacted the lives of many individuals and families, helping them find a sense of balance and fulfillment.
