Feeling truly heard can be invaluable.

When you find yourself in pain, depressed, anxious, grieving a loss, or going through a life transition, you might feel confused and overwhelmed. Often our thoughts and feelings can get tangled with our expectations leaving us unsure about how to move forward.

In our sessions together we will explore what is working for you and what parts of your self are being challenged by the new circumstances. We will look at how your past effects the present, your feelings and inner motivations, and your desires and goals. By developing greater self-awareness and practicing self-acceptance, you will begin to discover new ways to grow and strengthen as a person. When you know yourself well you can intercept unhealthy patterns of living as they emerge.

I use multiple approaches including Humanistic theories to build our relationship, Psychoanalytic theories to explore your inner motivations and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to learn new ways to think and feel about yourself. I have worked for many years as a suicide and crisis counsellor, a visual artist and professor, and a parent. Each aspect of my life has taught me the value of having a supportive collaboration in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Feeling truly heard can be invaluable. I have successfully guided young people, adults and couples through life transitions, times of grieving, and periods of depression and anxiety.
When you are ready, I offer a free 15-minute initial conversation so that you can ask questions and we can see if we are a good fit. We may then agree to meet a few times to get to know each other. During these sessions, as we build a trusting relationship, we can decide how best to work together. Sessions are 50 minutes mainly virtually as in-person is limited.

I look forward to helping you enhance your life and well-being!
