I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own life. I see my role as a therapist is to offer tools and support to help you move towards the change you want.
I work with adults navigating the impacts of various mental health concerns (i.e., autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, burnout) from a strengths-based perspective. This means that I don’t believe we need to “fix” you. Instead, I want to collaboratively explore ways that we can approach your concerns from a different perspective, using your interests and values to inform this new perspective.
Depending on the client, this may look like developing more practical tools to navigate stressful work or social situations, dismantling unhelpful beliefs, or processing past experiences to move beyond them. To do this, I use a mix of narrative, DBT, and ACT approaches, adapting the intervention to better fit your brain and context.
As a queer and neurodivergent-identifying person, I recognize that you may have a diverse background or identity that may influence your experiences with your mental health and may inform your needs in our work together. As I consider it a privilege to learn about these important aspects of you, I highly value working together to create an environment where you can feel comfortable enough to share your stories with me. Ultimately, since we can’t always change the oppressive narratives and structures that may be in your way, I want to help you develop strategies and tools to help you navigate the world more easily.
I look forward to connecting with you!
