"Trusting yourself means living out what you already know to be true." Cheryl Strayed
Hello! I am Amy.
My approach to therapy is based on understanding humans as social beings. Our development is strongly influenced by our early caregivers and we continue to be affected by the people we form attachments with throughout our lives. Our opinions, beliefs, and understanding of ourselves and the world are also influenced by our relationships as well as our life experiences.
I am a former professional engineer in the province of British Columbia and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Since 2010, I have helped many teenagers and their families through difficult times as a learning support teacher in the public school system. I’ve worked with students from multiple schools, in a variety of settings, and with diverse communities. I have recently completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology and internship at OCP.
I believe that everyone deserves to feel at peace with who they are and to find meaning and purpose in their lives. Therapy is an opportunity for self-reflection, alignment, and awakening or reconnecting with our truest self and it is an honour and a privilege to support people in finding their way towards healing and better health.
If you think we would be a great fit or are curious for more information, please email me at amy.m.ocp@gmail.com.
