I work with adults who are tired of feeling like they need to "fix" themselves and are looking for a more compassionate way of understanding their experiences.

Hi, I’m Brooklyn, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO. I work with adults (18+) who are feeling unsure, burnt out, overwhelmed, and disconnected from themselves, often after years of trying to push through the challenges life can bring.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in the mental health field with a variety of communities, including military-connected and neurodivergent communities. Over the years, I found myself especially drawn to supporting people navigating life with autism and/or ADHD, and these experiences have shaped the way I approach counselling today.

As a Queer and neurodivergent person myself, I care deeply about working with people in the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities. I understand how systems, labels, masking, and chronic stress can shape mental health, and I aim to support you in developing greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and practical ways of coping.

I completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Carleton University. Following this, I gained some experience by volunteering as a Crisis Line Responder with the Distress Centre of Greater Toronto, where I was trained in crisis intervention, and suicide prevention/intervention. This experience inspired me to return to schooling, and complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Since then, I have found great meaning in supporting clients while continuing to expand my knowledge through workshops, continuing education, and emerging psychological research to provide compassionate, effective care.

My own experiences have shaped the person and therapist I am today. Living with ADHD has given me a personal understanding of the ways that expectations around productivity, organization, and “keeping up” can affect how we see ourselves. Experiences with grief, loss, family change, and identity have also taught me that life rarely fits neatly into categories, and that sometimes what we need most is space to make sense of what we’re carrying.

These experiences have deepened my belief that therapy should make room for the whole person, including the parts of ourselves that may not fit neatly into what is expected of us. They have shaped my commitment to meeting people with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment.
