“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” -Carl Rogers
When life gets complicated, you deserve to be heard. Someone who will listen and allow you to express yourself in the way that feels right for you. I strive to be fully present with you as we work together – whether that be through difficult emotions, past trauma, or managing a challenging relationship. That is why I strive to create a judgement-free zone that is safe for you to come in and share your thoughts and feelings.
My passion for helping others is fueled by a desire to help you overcome issues that impact your mental health and well-being. My therapeutic style is best described as compassionate and caring above all else. As an emerging therapist, I strive to incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) into our work to help you reduce your suffering, understand your emotions and work through difficult thoughts/feelings.
I am open and welcome you into my practice, no matter what your walk of life may be. Besides adults, I am keen to also work with youth and the LGBTQ+ community. I have completed the coursework for my Masters of Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University and a BA Hons in Forensic Psychology from Ontario Tech University. I have volunteered in various helping roles – as a First Responder for my Campus Emergency Response Team, working with PFLAG, and as a youth leader with Scouts Canada.
Please feel free to send me a message if you think we might be a good match to work together. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation session for you to meet me and ensure you feel it is a good fit.
