I believe everyone can benefit from a safe space in which we can be accepted as we are, without judgement. The attuned presence of a compassionate, validating supporter, whether working through painful memories or dealing with current stress, creates a different experience than going through it alone. Often our patterns, symptoms or behaviours can be understood as habitual protective mechanisms that may have served us well at one time. In recognizing this we can learn to understand ourselves with greater self-compassion and shift towards change.
Developing new ways of coping and relating to ourselves and others can bring lasting benefits and prepare us for new phases of life. I support individuals with challenges such as depression, anxiety, life changes, trauma, childhood emotional neglect, grief, stress, perinatal and parenting concerns.
In practice, I take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach grounded in attachment theory. To develop an individualized approach with you I may draw from a variety of methods including IFS, EFT, CBT, Schema therapy, NARM (Neuroaffective relational model) , as well as EMDR and mindfulness practices. I am neurodiversity affirmative and LGBTQA2S+ allied.
