Hello, I’m Gemma!

I’m a passionate individual with a profound curiosity for unraveling the intricacies of human behavior and the life experiences that shape individuals into who they are today. Motivated by this fascination, I pursued and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology. This educational journey revealed my true calling: to assist individuals from diverse backgrounds in gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and embarking on a path of healing.

Recognizing that taking the initial steps toward healing or seeking a new therapist can be a daunting endeavor, I am dedicated to accompanying my clients on their personal journeys of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and personal growth. By fostering a secure and non-judgmental environment, I encourage clients to explore the areas they wish to address, providing support and collaboration, while always respecting their individual pace.

My therapeutic approach centers around the establishment of a strong therapeutic alliance, where clients assume the role of experts in their own lives. Embracing a holistic perspective, I employ various modalities that align with and cater to the unique needs of everyone. Among these modalities, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and trauma-informed approaches will be used to foster healing and facilitate growth.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Honors in Forensic Psychology from Ontario Tech University and am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa. As a psychotherapy intern, I work under the expert supervision of Yoshie Martinez (RP) and Yena Bi (RP), leveraging their guidance and expertise to ensure the highest quality of care for my clients.
