Hello! I’m Jenna and would love to walk alongside you on your unique journey. My favourite part about this work is assisting people to step into their power, give words to their feelings, and start creating a life they love. I firmly believe that human connection is the foundation of an abundant life. For this reason, I am passionate about working with people to improve their relationships with themselves and others.
I am currently completing my clinical social work internship under Yoshie Martinez, M. Ed. Registered Psychotherapist. I began my counselling journey after graduating with an Honours Bachelor in Behaviour Psychology from St. Lawrence College, and am now pursuing a Master of Social Work through Wilfrid Laurier University. During my time in the field I’ve explored my passions through various roles including School Mental Health Counsellor, Housing Rehabilitation Worker, Counselling Group Facilitator, and Intensive Behavioural Intervention Instructor Therapist. I have also worked as an Addictions Counsellor since 2018. These experiences provided several years of practice with a wide range of concerns. Some of which include, substance use, behavioural addictions, anxiety, depression, developmental trauma, grief, self-esteem, anger, and intimacy issues. Further, I’m passionate about womxn’s relationship and sexuality challenges, and practice from a lens of harm-reduction, sex-positivity, LGBTQ+ allyship, and kink-allyship.
I use a holistic approach to wellness by assisting clients to work with thoughts, feelings, emotions, and embodied knowing. My practice incorporates pieces of many treatment models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT), with a sprinkle of humour. I am also enjoying learning about Somatic Experiencing (SE), and how I can integrate more of it into practice with clients. In working together, we can create a tailored counselling experience to meet your specific needs, and help you move towards a value-directed life of your creation.
