“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.” - Shannon L. Alder

** With Weekday evenings and Saturdays availability**

Are you feeling depressed, anxious, having problems with relationships, in a difficult transition, or feeling the impact of past trauma on your life? At times, dealing with emotional and relational challenges and other life stressors can feel frustrating and overwhelming. I am Jiaqi and I am here for you! With compassion and empathy, I provide a safe, judgement-free, and supportive environment where you feel heard and experience healing, hope, and empowerment. I will listen to you carefully and work with you to identify these issues clearly. I will develop healthier coping skills to improve your sense of integration and wholeness.

I work with individuals (11+), couples and families of all backgrounds in a variety of areas. Whatever you are seeking to gain from therapy, I will meet you where you are at in that process and we will work together on reaching the goals that you have.

I have a B.Sc. in Psychology from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I receive ongoing clinical supervision from Pamela Green, who is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario. My therapy style is eclectic and I care about tailoring my approach to best fit you. Overall, I believe in using eastern and western modalities to help you manage difficult situations and emotions. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. For couples, I also use Gottman Method (with Level 1 Certificate) and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to regulate emotions and provide tools to mitigate conflicts and achieve greater intimacy.

As the saying goes, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” (Lao Tzu). I am excited that the first step of your journey has led you here! Feel free to email me at jiaqi.ocp@gmail.com or fill out the contact box on the right to book an appointment. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have and discuss how we can work collaboratively.
