Over the past 30 years of working in Social Services, I have realized that our minds are the source of all our suffering. We spend much of our time either wishing for a different past or worrying about our future. Learning to stay in the present moment can and will alleviate our stress, anxiety and unhappiness. This is much easier said than done! However, over the years, I have developed a system that helps people overcome difﬁcult situations by learning to train their minds and change the scripts that keep them stuck in old ways of thinking and behaving. This can have great benefits to our own personal growth and relationships with others.
I work with individuals, couples, and groups. My philosophy combines my experience in counseling, teaching, yoga, mindfulness and meditation with a thorough knowledge of psychotherapy.
Areas of expertise are Emotionally Focused Couples therapy, Mindfulness, MBSR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Sex therapy.
These different approaches are used to address Relationships, Sexuality and Gender Issues, Adolescents with high risk behaviors, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, LGBTTIQQ2SA, and Mindful living. I use a culturally sensitive approach to invite people to be fully expressed in their love, work and play, regardless of age, sex, gender, race, religion, or sexuality.
