“I offer a warm, safe, and welcoming space where you feel supported to bravely express your authentic self and take steps to reach your full potential. It may be buried underneath past trauma, pain, anxiety, self-doubt, and depression. Working together we will uncover how the past may be blocking you even today. And how we can build a future worth living.”

Are you struggling with trying to get rid of unwanted, painful emotions in your life? Are you feeling your coping strategies may not be working any longer? Are you losing touch with what you desire in life?

I recognize the hardest part of the change process is taking that first step. Asking someone for help. Acknowledging it might not be working anymore…and recognizing something needs to change. To make the next step  as comfortable as possible, I offer a non-judgmental space for you to come in and be as open (and authentic) as you need to be. Acting as a guide to different approaches that might help you while acknowledging the life experience, strengths, and inner resources you have inside.

With 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I draw upon my previous experience working with adults, teens, and couples to help guide us through a wide-range of possible issues/disorders. I specialize in not only helping my former clients deal with painful emotions/issues. But also discovering what life you want to live in the absence of these unwanted issues. Helping you deal with the pain/anxiety while also taking action on values we discover give you meaning/purpose.

I am best described as collaborative, empathic, at times humorful, and authentic in my work with clients. I approach the therapeutic relationship from a deep appreciate that you are an expert in your own life. Coming in with strengths and experiences that need to be heard and infused into our treatment plan together!

Here is a brief summary of the issues I specialize in for adults, teens (+12), and couples:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • grief/bereavement/loss
  • anger
  • chronic pain
  • trauma/PTSD
  • parenting
  • relationships
  • work
  • teen and men issues
  • life transitions, adjustments
  • finding meaning/purpose/existential crisis

The types of evidence-based therapeutic approaches that I have formal training in include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE – for PTSD), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Solution-focused Brief therapy (SFBT). Cutting across all these approaches are three big values for me: mindfulness acceptance, client-centred, and strength-based. At the end of the day, I strive to customize an approach that best fits your specific needs. And that interests you – you walk out of session and know why we are doing something/and how it applies to your life.

To ensue you feel as comfortable as possible coming into the first session (while also getting to know what you want out of therapy), I offer a free 15 phone consultation. I am currently offering in-person, video, and telephone services for individuals, youth, and couples. Feel free to reach out me at anytime if you have any more questions about me or my practice.
