My style is person-centered, building upon your strengths so you may step outside the symptoms of your life’s challenges – toward recovering and restoring your overall well-being. Together, we aim to cultivate hope, choice, and resilience so that you may feel and know wellness.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) with a Master of Counselling Psychology degree through Yorkville University. As a lifelong learner, I am committed to continuing my education to deepen my abilities to help those who are suffering from traumatic life experiences. I hold additional training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) for PTSD, Suicide Prevention (ASIST), Cultural Competency, and Behavioural Psychology.
Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are just a few of the symptoms that can linger after stressful and tragic events. I want to help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. As Gabor Maté reminds us, “Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you”. In distinguishing the event(s) from the person, we may begin the walk toward self-healing and self-love. In accepting that ‘we’ are not our circumstance, we rise and become better able to secure a sense of connection with our loved ones; the foundation of traumatic growth. The goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
