Each one of us have the ability to persevere and thrive despite the challenges that can arise in our lives, but sometimes we need support to help us recognize and tap into these abilities. My goal is to provide a safe, empathetic, judgement-free space for you to identify and build on your pre-existing strengths and add to your ‘toolkit’ of coping skills. You are the expert of your own life, so my focus is to work with you to tailor approaches and techniques to best fit your specific needs and goals.
I take a holistic counselling approach, pulling from a variety of theories to address the mental, emotional, and somatic components of well-being. Using this holistic, individualized approach we can work together to establish a mutual understanding of your lived experience and current concerns, and create and implement a uniquely catered plan to help you achieve your goals! So, whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, interpersonal issues, a life transition or other stressors, I hope to support you in navigating your unique life circumstances.
My educational background in Behavioural Neuroscience and Gender Studies provides me with an in depth understanding of the brain processes that can contribute to both distress and well-being, while also considering the impact of our experiences and environment. This understanding supports my ability consider all the factors, both internal and external, that may be contributing to your concerns.
As a queer, non-binary person myself, I understand how important and validating it is to feel seen, understood, and respected as your authentic self. I am passionate about supporting people within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community as well as providing support and being an ally to people from all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.
