"Learning to care for ourselves during times of distress and tension is achievable. We can adopt the role of a supportive friend or nurturing parent to ourselves as we navigate life's challenges. Just like the Good Samaritan's tale teaches us to show kindness to others, it also encourages us to extend that same compassion towards ourselves amidst our daily struggles. Instead of constantly criticizing ourselves, let's take the first step towards authentic self-acceptance by approaching each day with kindness and understanding, embracing whatever emotions or experiences come our way".

With over 14 years of experience in the field of clinical counselling and psychotherapy within Canadian Forces Mental Health clinics and Operational Trauma and Stress Support Centers, I bring a wealth of expertise in providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions. My background encompasses a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-based approaches. As a bilingual practitioner, I’ve effectively supported clients facing various mental health challenges, from addiction and trauma to family and marital issues. My educational journey includes a Ph.D. in Counselling & Spirituality (candidate) and a master’s degree in counselling & Spirituality, along with additional training in social work and theology. I hold certification from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Throughout my career, I’ve maintained a commitment to ongoing professional development, evidenced by a comprehensive list of workshops, certifications, and specialized training in areas such as trauma-focused therapies, suicide prevention, and mindfulness practices. In addition to my clinical work, I’ve served as a Military Chaplain, providing spiritual and moral support to service members and their families. My role has involved fostering well-being, offering guidance in challenging environments, and collaborating with other care providers. Furthermore, I’ve contributed to the field through teaching and training initiatives, including facilitating counselling skills courses for military chaplains, and conducting workshops on topics such as compassion fatigue and stress management. Overall, my background reflects a dedication to holistic care, blending clinical expertise with spiritual and psychological insights to support individuals in their journey toward healing and resilience.
