Together, healing can be made easier.
I’m Myriam, a bilingual Registered Psychotherapist based in Ottawa, Ontario. I understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and taking the step to seek support is a brave and powerful choice. At Peace by Piece, I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental space where your story is heard and valued. Together, we explore how your experiences and relationships shape your emotions, your sense of self, and your connections with others.
My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as Emotion-Focused Therapy and psychodynamic methods to help you uncover patterns, understand emotions, and create healthier ways of moving forward. We explore both present challenges and early survival patterns that may still affect your life today. With empathy and practical strategies, I guide you at a pace that feels right for you, building lasting tools for resilience and clarity.
I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, and those navigating life transitions or seeking personal growth. My goal is to help you strengthen confidence, restore emotional balance, and find meaning in your journey so you can move forward with greater ease and fulfillment.
If you are ready to take the next step, I invite you to schedule a free consultation and begin your path toward healing and growth.
Lived Experience (Direct or Indirect)
My lived experience includes
- Blended Family/Divorce/Separation
- Discrimination
- Grief/Loss
- Religion
- Religious Trauma
- Trauma
I grew up in the heart of an Haitian-Caribbean immigrant family, raised primarily by a single mother and navigating the complexities of a split household. My life has been shaped by the realities of low income, family incarceration, and substance use, alongside the direct impact of racism and discrimination. I’ve spent years deconstructing the trauma of religious misinformation and abuse from my upbringing in various churches - a journey that deeply impacted my faith. I also carry the ongoing, quiet weight of grieving a parent. I share this because I know what it’s like to survive these systems while trying to find your own peace.

List of Professional Development
- 2025 - I am currently working toward completing the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) Basic Training, a cutting-edge, trauma-informed approach designed to address developmental and complex trauma. At this stage, I am actively studying and developing my understanding of NARM through the foundational text, which allows me to integrate key concepts into my work with clients. In Fall 2026, I will expand this learning by formally completing the Basic Training, which will further deepen my ability to help clients recognize and shift long-standing patterns of disconnection, shame, and survival strategies. This training will enhance my practice by providing advanced tools to support healing, resilience, and authentic connection.
