My counselling approach is grounded in self-compassion, which encourages kindness towards oneself, and the understanding that difficult times are not a sign of personal failure.
Hi there, I’m Natalie.
I am a Counselling Psychology graduate student, completing my Masters through Yorkville University. While completing my studies, I have also served as a Crisis Counsellor with Kids Help Phone, and the Client Relations Manager for a local charity offering pet food support to low-income members of the Ottawa community.
I work with a range of clients, including teens and adults who are experiencing difficult emotions, life transitions, interpersonal and relationship challenges, and questions related to identity growth and development. I am especially passionate about working with teens, those undergoing career or retirement transitions, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
My counselling approach is grounded in self-compassion, which encourages kindness towards oneself, and the understanding that difficult times are not a sign of personal failure. My goal is to support you in developing and drawing upon your strengths to navigate and grow from these challenges. I believe that you already have the ability within yourself to live a joyful and fulfilling life, you may just need some dedicated time and space to figure out the next steps.
Please note that I practice through a lens of harm reduction, equity, and inclusion. This means that I prioritize the safety and autonomy of marginalized identities, and take a practical approach to minimize the negative outcomes of substance use and self-harm behaviours. If you think we might be a good fit, please get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you!
