“Nourishing yourself in a way that helps you blossom in the direction you want to go is attainable, and you are worth the effort.” - Deborah Day

Taking the first step toward support can feel difficult. However, it doesn’t have to be done alone. As a counselling intern, I will ensure to provide a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment for you to feel comfortable, heard, and understood.

As a Pakistani-Canadian, I am passionate about supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I am aware that there can be differences in traditions, beliefs, and values. With this, we can collaborate on the goals and positive changes that are catered towards your needs and values.

Growing up in my cultural community, mental health was often overlooked and not openly discussed, with emotional struggles sometimes minimized or misunderstood. This created a gap where many individuals felt they had to cope in silence rather than seek support. Witnessing this shaped my perspective and deepened my understanding of how stigma and lack of awareness can impact well-being. Additionally, it became a strong motivation for me to pursue a path in counselling. I am passionate about helping create a space where mental health is acknowledged, valued, and supported, and where individuals feel safe to express themselves without fear of judgment.

Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, or low self-esteem, I am here to help with the healing process and collaborate in positive changes.

If you are interested in booking a session with me please do not hesitate to contact me by email. You are also welcome to complete the intake form provided on this page. I am looking forward to hearing from you and connecting with you soon.

Lived Experience (Direct or Indirect)

My lived experience includes

  • Blended Family/Divorce/Separation
  • Grief/Loss
  • Religion

Growing up with divorced parents and living with a single mother, I developed an early understanding of family transitions, resilience, and the emotional complexities that can come with change and loss. These experiences have shaped my awareness and understanding towards being empathic, sensitive, and respectful for each individual’s story.

As someone who identifies with the Muslim faith, I value the role that culture, religion, and identity can play in shaping a person’s worldview and healing process. I strive to create a safe space that is inclusive, culturally responsive, and respectful of diverse beliefs and practices.

I have gone through the loss of a close family member. When this happened to my my grandmother, it further deepened my understanding of grief and its lasting impact. I have gone through that shock, loss, heartbreak, and grief. This personal experience informs my compassionate approach when supporting individuals through loss, life transitions, and emotional challenges.

While my lived experiences guide my perspective, my work remains client-centred, ensuring that each individual feels heard, supported, and empowered in their own journey.
