If you are reading this, you are probably taking the first steps towards starting your therapy journey. Take a moment and applaud yourself. This is no small feat, and you should be proud!
Welcome, I’m Sam. I take a holistic approach to therapy, seeing each person as a whole and valuing the importance of a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. I believe meaningful change happens in a space that feels safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental. Somewhere you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are. My goal is to help create that space, and walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, deepen self-understanding, and move toward the goals that matter most to you.
I work with individuals ages 12+ and couples, supporting concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotion regulation, stress, trauma, and interpersonal relationships. I have a particular passion for working with individuals and couples navigating ADHD, including the ways ADHD can impact communication, emotional connection, and relationship dynamics. Together, we focus on building insight, practical coping skills, and greater self-compassion, while honoring that you are the expert on your own life.
In couples therapy, I use Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) through an attachment-based lens to help partners better understand their emotional needs, break out of unhelpful patterns, and create deeper, more secure connections. With individuals, my overall approach is tailored to each client and is informed by attachment theory, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic principles, and trauma-informed care.
Clients often describe me as genuine, collaborative, and supportive. Sessions are typically a balance of emotional exploration and practical tools, with an emphasis on building insight, self-compassion, and coping skills, and a sprinkle of humor.
If you have any questions, or feel we might be a good fit, I’d be glad to connect.
