“You should never view your challenges as a disadvantage. Instead, it’s important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages” – Michelle Obama

As with a rollercoaster, life has its ups and downs. Sometimes, it can make us feel alone, resulting in feelings of stress or sadness that bring us down or cause us to feel inadequate. However, you are capable of overcoming these challenges. Although change can be challenging, sometimes a little help is needed to overcome those challenges, heal from the pains of the past and present, and become more self-effective towards life’s challenges and interpersonal relationships.

As a student intern with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) license, I strive to create a supportive, caring, open and non-judgmental environment under Jessica Ng’s supervision. As everyone is unique and on their own personal journey, I will meet you where you are while using a variety of theories. In my work with adults (18+), I employ a humanistic orientation, which means that I believe that each individual is capable of taking control of their lives, creating change, and establishing a positive outlook, regardless of the challenges that life may bring. As we work together, you will have the opportunity to be your authentic self while working on healing past and present wounds. By the end of our therapy journey, you will grow as an individual, develop empowerment, have a positive outlook on life, and be able to effectively change your life while understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interconnect.

In addition to healing from your pain, you will develop a positive perspective on your life, reduce any stress you may be experiencing, and increase your self-awareness. When life becomes difficult, it can be difficult to maintain a sense of community and can sometimes feel lonely and isolating, but you’ve already taken the first step to healing by seeking counseling. You are welcome to take the next step by sending me an email or giving me a call to determine whether we are a good match.
