"The curious paradox is that when I can accept myself just as I am, then I can change." (Carl Rogers)
Welcome.
As a registered psychotherapist and a registered nurse, my approach to healing is deeply rooted in both clinical expertise and rich life experience. I have walked through many of the chapters my clients face. I have been married for twenty-nine years, navigating the evolving seasons of long-term partnership, and I’m the parent of two young adult children. My family life and professional work have taught me the importance of finding balance while navigating the challenges of these two worlds. My approach to working with clients is to draw on my professional and personal experience and provide a space that is welcoming, safe, and compassionate, where you can begin to share your story, and where we can work towards meaningful change together.
My 30 year career as a registered nurse, primarily in the intensive care setting, has given me a profound understanding of the human condition and the struggles that people experience. I have worked on the front lines of care, supporting loved ones and their families through medical crises, and also experienced firsthand the heavy toll of the health care environment with my own family members navigating this system. Through my work, I have encountered deep loss and professional trauma. This blend of medical and therapeutic knowledge allows me to support clients navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, especially those related to high-stress environments, bringing a trauma-informed approach to my work as a registered psychotherapist.
My lived and work experience allows me to meet clients with genuine empathy, not just theoretical knowledge. I understand the heavy weight of burnout and compassion-fatigue, the complexeties of grief and loss and the unique pressures of being a caregiver. In our sessions, your story will be met with a deeply compassionate, non-judgmental, and pratical approach to healing. At the heart of my work are four core values: commitment, compassion, collaboration, and connection, which I believe are essential in fostering healing, building resilience, and reconnecting with your inner strengths.
I work from a strength-based, person-centered approach, and welcome individuals from all walks of life that includes:
-
Compassion fatigue and burnout
-
Moral distress
-
Anxiety and depression
-
Grief and loss
-
Life transitions
-
