For as long as I can remember, I have had an interest in helping people. This interest led me to obtain an undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2005, and to currently pursue a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
I have spent the last 16 years working directly with families, children, and youth, helping them overcome a variety of challenges in order to achieve their goals. My former career in social services provided me with a vast amount of experience working with parents who are overwhelmed and helping them navigate a variety of parenting concerns (challenging child behaviours, co-parenting after separation, etc.) as an accredited practitioner of the Triple P positive parenting program.
I also gained extensive experience in working with survivors and perpetrators of abuse and trauma, including those who have experienced intimate partner violence. I truly enjoy helping people who struggle with a variety of childhood and adulthood mental health diagnoses, such as depression and anxiety.
I practice from a strength-based approach, helping you get to where you want to be in life by using the strengths you already have. Coming to therapy can be scary, so I strive to have a safe and supportive counselling environment, in which I empower you and take a non-judgmental approach.
I focus on building a solid relationship with you so that there is a foundation of trust, and I will work with you at your pace to help you move forward. I will walk alongside you on your journey to wellness, working with you to find solutions and develop concrete strategies to manage life’s hardships. I tailor my services to each client’s specific needs, using evidence-based interventions to address the issues holding you back in order to help you move forward.
