I genuinely appreciate that you have taken the first step in helping yourself to live a better life

**Accepting new clients starting in January  – Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday availability**

As humankind, I truly believe that we all have something in common: The need and desire for Connection. It is my core belief that this wonderful common attribute that we all possess enables me to better accompany you in the healing journey. In therapy, I will be creating a secure, warm, trusting, and non-judgmental space where you can express your true self in ways you feel comfortable and restore the capacity to connect with self and others.
As a psychotherapy intern, I am completing my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa and under the supervision of Yena Bi, M.Ed., Registered Psychotherapist (RP). Before entering graduate school, I had obtained a
B.Ed. in Educational Psychology and Counselling and been a school counsellor working with adolescents for over four years. I greatly enjoyed my work and deemed the mental health profession my life-long passion.
Currently, I am completing NeuroAffective Relational Model™ (NARM®) Level 2 therapist training and mainly utilize this approach in my clinical practice. This is a resources-based and exploratory/process-oriented approach that helps clients
explore what they want for themselves and what is getting in the way of that. I also integrate Existential-humanistic, Experiential, Relational, Attachment-based approaches, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT; Level 1 Externship completed) in therapy.
Regarding my clientele, I am interested in working with individuals with a variety of issues, including developmental/complex trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, and attachment issues. I am also welcoming those who want to seek
personal and professional growth through a more thorough and deeper understanding of self. In addition, as a gay therapist from an Asian background, I am particularly passionate about cultural/cross-cultural issues and LGBTQ+ challenges.
If you would like to know more about me and the way I work to see if we would fit, feel free to reach out to me at weihao.ocp@gmail.com. I am looking forward to working with you.
